A Durable Power of Attorney (DPOA) lets you name someone (an "agent") to manage your financial, legal, and sometimes healthcare decisions for you, even if you become mentally or physically unable to do so yourself. It's a crucial legal tool for estate planning, ensuring a trusted person can pay bills, handle investments, access accounts, and manage property without court intervention when you're incapacitated. The "durable" part means it stays active (or starts) upon your incapacitation, unlike a standard POA which ends.
